Sakurah Handmade Scrunchie

Where handmade charm meets conscious craft.

Sakurah isn’t just a boutique. It’s a love letter to softness, stitched with strength.

Born in Mauritius, Sakurah began with a single needle, a small table by the window, and a quiet belief: that beauty should be both personal and purposeful. What started as a handful of handcrafted scrunchie soon became a curated universe — satin pillowcases, bonnets, gift sets, bows and ribbons designed not only to adorn, but to affirm.

Here, every creation is made with care. We source our materials ethically and, whenever possible, locally — not only to reduce our footprint, but to support fellow micro-businesses and artisans. Our packaging is reusable or recyclable whenever we can make it so. Because at Sakurah, we believe that when you support a small brand, you're not just nurturing one girl’s dream — you're uplifting a quiet network of makers stitched behind the scenes. Sustainability, for us, isn’t a trend. It’s a chain of kindness, and a responsibility we carry with heart.

Our Story, Soft and Steady

  • 2021 – Sakurah was born: a passion project rooted in handmade scrunchies, soft satin, and a dream.
  • 2022 – We expanded into bonnets, gift boxes, bridal bundles, and seasonal collections — each stitched with detail and intention.
  • 2023 – Our brand community began to grow, with loyal clients across Mauritius and beyond.
  • 2025 – The Sakurah Boutique Journal launched — because our ribbons had more to say than just “pretty.”

We are more than the things we sell. We are the quiet hands that make them — and the voice that speaks when beauty meets values.

We are for the girl who wraps gifts with intention. Who believes softness is strength. Who chooses pretty and principled.

Whether you’re here to shop or simply to read, welcome. May you always find something real in the ribbons.

From our hands to yours,
With love,
The Sakurah Boutique Journal Team

✨ “A handmade piece is never just an object —
it’s a breath of the maker’s heart,
stitched in silence, but speaking forever.” ✨
